Hatchery
Hatchery/Fingerling Supply
Consistent commercial production of fish requires a constant supply of quality fingerlings. Fingerling quality is determined by health parameters, acceptable growth rates, population homogeneity, and proper nutrition.
In the early stages of establishing a farm, it is possible to rely on an external supply of fingerlings, But as the farm develops and the production volume increases, it is better to produce the fingerlings locally using an in-house brood stock and a hatchery with locally trained manpower.
